I’m a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Media Law and Policy in the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at the University of Oxford. My research focuses on the lived experience of digital inequality. The ubiquitous digitization of our everyday lives is leaving a lot of people behind, and I use ethnographic methods to study what communities are doing to resist and reimagine our digital futures at a local, grassroots level. I hold a DPhil and an MPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies as a Rhodes Scholar, where I studied online/offline political spaces in Egypt following the 2011 revolution. And I completed a BA in Government and Linguistics at the College of William and Mary (USA).
