Global Internet Governance Academic Network (GigaNet)

A global network for scholars of internet governance

GigaNet will host a session during the German IGF on 11 June 2014, which will take place as a pre-event to the European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG, 12-13 June 2014) in Berlin, Germany.

The GigaNet session will explore how Internet Governance processes have reacted to the Snowden revelations. Two presentations by academic experts will be followed by a moderated panel discussion and an open debate with the audience.

1. IETF moves to "harden" Internet technical standards
2. DPI surveillance programs that involve cooperation between private Internet service providers and national security agencies
